Vancouver-based Climate Smart certified businesses awarded Greenest City Leadership Award!
On July 6, 2015, 72 Vancouver-based Climate Smart certified businesses and organizations (see full list below) were awarded the Greenest City Leadership Award (Organization) for their work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, at the second annual City of Vancouver Awards of Excellence. The Climate Smart team was very, very proud to accept the award on their behalf.
“In their first year of measurable results, Climate Smart’s sustainability trailblazers reduced their carbon footprint by a total of 2,900 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions – the equivalent of every car in Vancouver idling for two hours. From reducing paper waste and reprogramming thermostats to right-sizing vehicle fleets and boiler retrofits, this diverse group of businesses and community organizations have moved six of the 10 goals and targets of the Greenest City Action Plan forward.” City of Vancouver website
