VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Vehicles displaying BC veteran licence plates will get free parking at city parking meters, EasyPark parkades and surface lots, as well as in Park Board operated facilities for Veterans Week.
The free parking also extends to popular destinations including Stanley Park, Queen Elizabeth Park, the Vancouver Aquatic Centre as well as a number of downtown community centres including Coal Harbour, Creekside and Roundhouse.
The City of Vancouver offers the small gesture to recognize the military service and dedication men and women provide Canada, and to help with their work distributing poppies.
Remembrance Day services will take place around the City on November 11. The main service will take place at the Victory Square Cenotaph.
