Big Data meets its match
EasyPark and Smarking leaders discuss real-time
data management solutions at 2016 CPA Conference
Looking for ways to turn big data into meaningful analytics at a glance? EasyPark CEO Nigel Bullers and Smarking’s Cassius Jones, Growth Manager, will reveal their companies’ joint solution at the 2016 Canadian Parking Association Annual Conference & Trade Show.
Bullers and Jones will host a break-out session titled Big Data: Municipal Case Study on Monday, October 24 from 9am – 10am in the Ontario Room of the Westin Ottawa Hotel. The session will highlight the results to date of the companies’ recent partnership to transform parking big data into highly valuable, manageable snapshots of critical operation patterns and key performance indicators.
“EasyPark has positioned itself as an industry leader in researching and implementing parking management enhancements during the past few years,” said Bullers. “Gathering data for the sake of data is hard to justify. We’ve been investigating various software and other targeted data management solutions to solve the problems that exist in our world. We began by tracking enforcement patrols and mining and applying the data through Smarking, and we’re extremely pleased with the results so far.”
“Our goal was to aggregate and normalize EasyPark’s parking data and create a desktop and mobile dashboard solution that would enable the EasyPark team to make fast, effective decisions,” said Jones. “We’re currently running more than 20 GB of transaction data from an initial group of four distinct sources with approximately 60 lots, and more is coming in every day. EasyPark can now track real-time occupancy, real-time revenues, parking durations, and many other key statistics.”
“EasyPark is now building solid data patterns that we’ll be able to use to project future parking needs for regular, event and seasonal periods,” said Bullers. “This will be a critical tool in managing company operational and capital loss prevention and growth.
